Acceptional Life is a non-renewable, non-convertible term life insurance product designed for difficult-to-insure individuals with substantial insurance needs. Acceptional Life coverage is subject to full underwriting. It is not simplified issue or guaranteed issue coverage.
Acceptional Life is underwritten by Co-operators Life Insurance Company and distributed exclusively through Hunter McCorquodale. It is not currently available in Quebec.

Acceptional Life Death Benefit
Upon the death of the Life Insured from a non-excluded cause, the sum insured is paid to the beneficiary and the policy is terminated. In the event of a death from an excluded cause, premiums will not be refunded.
All Acceptional Life policies contain exclusions against payment of a death benefit in the following circumstances:
- Suicide or self-destruction, while sane or insane, including euthanasia assisted by another person, including a licensed physician*;
- Ingestion of any drugs, alcohol, intoxicant and/or narcotic, except on the advice of or as directed by a licensed physician,
- Ingestion of any poisonous substance, gas or fumes except in the case of an industrial accident;
- Accidental bodily injury that occurs while committing or attempting to commit a criminal act; or
- Accidental bodily injury that occurs while in care and control of a motorized vehicle, while having a blood alcohol concentration at or in excess of the legal limit, or while impaired as a result of drug usage.
Policy Specific Exclusions
Additional policy specific exclusions, including medical exclusions, may be required as a result of an applicant’s medical history or other risk factors.
*Permanent Suicide Exclusion
It is important to note that the exclusion for death by suicide extends for the entire period of the policy. Physician-assisted suicide is also excluded.
Note: The above is a summary of the important features of the Acceptional Life plan. Should there be differences between this document and the policy, the policy shall prevail.
